Berry and avo smoothie – Keto/Banting

Berry and Banana smoothie –  Low GI and Mediterranean diet

I love a berry smoothie, and sometimes drink it instead of eating breakfast or lunch. If I do not have frozen berries, I use fresh strawberries or berries. 

 

Berry and avo smoothie recipe

Ideal for those following our Keto/Banting diet plans.

Trying to lose weight but getting nowhere? You may be insulin resistant. People who adhere to my Keto/Banting (low in carbs, high in fat)  diet plan achieve great results and find that it is an easy lifestyle to follow and maintain weight loss.

Serving size

Serves 2

Ingredients
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries or mixed berries
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt OR coconut cream
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tablespoon xylitol if you like it sweet
  • 1 cup of crushed ice, or a few ice cubes
  • optional: ½ cup water or milk, if it’s too thick to blend
Directions

Blend ingredients together in a food processor or a blender.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries or mixed berries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup low fat yoghurt or Greek yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon xylitol if you like it sweet
  • 1 teaspoon oat bran
  • optional: ½ cup water or milk, if it’s too thick to blend
Directions

Blend ingredients together in a food processor or a blender.
